Stephen Willard Renaldi

On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Stephen Willard Renaldi of San Diego, CA passed away at the age of 90 years old. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Vicky Scholl (James), Cynthia Cicalo, and Stephen Renaldi (Michele); Grandchildren, David Cicalo (Christine), Cresence Reed (Joseph), Joseph Cicalo (Jerry), Chelsy Avery (John), Christopher Renaldi, Sara Cicalo (Donald), Nicolas Renaldi (Jody), Ashley Thomas (Justin); Great-Grandchildren Briana Reed, Josh Cicalo, Tyler Reed, Abigail Cicalo, Kaylee Renaldi, Zachary Cicalo, Olivia Cicalo, Ren Thomas, Easton Thomas, Greyson Avery, Brock Thomas and Anthony Renaldi and numerous other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Cresence (Cressy) Renaldi; Sisters, Maryann Kelson, Barbara Hafer, Lucy Anthony, and Katie Renaldi.

Steve was born to Mary and Stephen Renaldi in Elkhart, Indiana and raised in Culver City, CA. Where he met and married Cressy and worked as a furniture salesman. He enlisted in the United States Army with his best friend Don Leggitt under the “Buddy Enlistment” program to serve together during the Korean conflict. Upon his return from Korea he worked as a self-employed milkman owning multiple milk routes in Southern California and Alaska retiring in 1979. Upon retirement, Steve and Cressy moved to Lake Almanor, CA and opened Renaldi’s Pizza Parlor where Steve could be found making pizza in the kitchen or tending bar while telling jokes. Together they spent almost two decades running the restaurant, golfing, boating, restoring classic cars, and enjoying visits from their adult children and grandchildren. After deciding to sell the business and once again retire, they returned to San Diego, CA to be closer to and spend more time with their three adult children and their families. After enjoying decades of family gatherings, births and birthdays, visits and meals together, Steve died in the peaceful presence of his eldest great-granddaughter, while she held his hand.

A Memorial Service and interment will be held at a yet to be determined date at the Miramar National Cemetery.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Cloisters of the Valley for their care and compassion.
