Levi Cody Shouse

Levi Cody Shouse, passed away unexpectedly on November 29, 2023 at his residence in San Diego, California. He was only 46 years old. His family and friends are deeply saddened by his sudden death. Levi was born on February 15, 1977 in Mesa, Arizona.

Levi is survived by his loving mother Julia (Jude) McCain Shouse (71), father James David Shouse (76), Stepfather Michael Emery (66), brother Stephen Emery (39), son Tye Abraham (20), and many loyal friends and extended family members. Levi was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wesley (Wes) and Orene (Blount) “Gram” McCain — whom he was very close with. He adored his canine companions; Angel, Bleu, and Duke, who all predeceased him.

Levi was a devoted son and father — a principled man of integrity — always in search of truth and justice. He was the ultimate defender of women, children, and animals in need. Levi was born an only child (and the first of the fifth generation) and grew up working alongside “Wes”, his grandfather (they were inseparable), on their dairy farm in Arizona — where he fell in love with horses and horseback riding. Levi had many passions in life, but his first love and “happy place” was the ocean. His family moved to California when he was 12 — where he became an accomplished (and the youngest) boat captain and experienced fisherman. Levi guided many fishing expedition tours, from a very young age. He was not afraid of hard work, long hours, and salty weather conditions. He was also an avid fan and player of an online fishing game, Fishing Clash, where he made and cherished many lifelong friends. During Covid, Levi became obsessed with health and fitness — working out daily in his home gym and creating a microgreens supplement. Levi was always the entrepreneur, owning more than one business venture in his lifetime.

Levi was an amazing person inside and out. He had a huge heart and cared deeply for the people around him. He was kind, passionate, and made an impact on many lives. His laugh was infectious and he was frequently the comedian. Levi was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be forever missed. Until we meet again.

A celebration of Levi’s life service will be held on March 3, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at 1404 Vacation Road in San Diego, California (Paradise Terrace at Paradise Point resort).
