jennifer howard

June 13, 2023, Jennifer Sue Howard, 51, of Vista, CA, passed away peacefully at home after battling ovarian cancer with family and friends at her side.

Jennifer was born on July 12, 1971 to Joanne Warfel and the late Garry Jordan in Phoenix, AZ. There Jennifer grew up in a beautiful home with her parents and sister Janell Kelly. The two of course butted heads as siblings do but were always close since a young age. Jennifer was always active, doing cheer and going to every social event at school. At an early age she was known for making people laugh with her quick wit and for her individuality and strong will.

After graduating from Phoenix Christian High School in 1989 she went on to college to become a paralegal.

Jennifer quickly climbed the ladder in her career and worked for multiple top law firms in Arizona and later California. In 1996 she had her daughter Caitlyn, who she adored. Somehow Jennifer always managed her family and work life balance, even in times of stress. She made sure to show up for the people she cared for.

In 2015 she married the love of her life Jim Howard. The two had gone to the same high school and fate brought them back together years later. The two together were perfect, soulmates. They enjoyed the same things and always wanted to grow together, fought for each other when times were tough, challenged each other when needed, and took care of each other. Jim was her partner right by her side until the end.

In 2021 Jennifer moved to California, which had been one of her dreams for years. She built a home and life there with Jim. They were able to go to the beach any time and she felt her best and at ease when she was in the water.

Jennifer was a strong and beautiful woman, a caring mother, and a leader. She was a jack of all trades and made it a point to succeed at anything she put her mind to. She always stood on her word and did what needed to be done. She encouraged others to also speak their mind and go for what they truly want. And she taught her daughter how to be brave and follow her passions. She always wanted to make everyone else’s life easier and make sure they were happy. Even when she got sick. She made an impact on so many people. And she always made it a point to dress up for an occasion with her colorful clothes and tastefully styled hair. Her bubbly personality always lit up a room and managed to bring people closer together. She filled her life with love and warmth until her last days. She will be missed by all of those who knew her. But we know she is up above still watching over us all and cheering us on.

Jennifer is survived by her mother Joanne Warfel, her sister Janell Kelly, Kevin Kelly, her husband Jim Howard, and her daughter Caitlyn Casey.
