Steven Schuh

Steven Carl Schuh, age 75, died after a lengthy illness on January 24, 2022 in San Diego, California. He was born to MSGT Carl Edward and Huguette Germain Schuh in Altoona, Pennsylvania. As an Army brat, his family moved frequently, but ended up in Wilmington Delaware, where he graduated from Brandywine High School. Steve enlisted in the U.S. Army in the late 1960’s, where he was sent to study Japanese at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California and was then posted to Okinawa. After an honorable discharge, he was hired as an employee of the Central Intelligence Agency. He lived and worked in Hawaii for several years before he returned to Washington, D.C. There, he met and married Laura Jones in Annandale, Virginia. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1977 from the University of Maryland. He and his wife were then posted overseas in East Asia and Europe for many years before returning to settle down in Herndon, Virginia. His marriage later ended in divorce. He retired from the government and eventually moved to San Diego. He is survived by his two adult children,US Marine Gunnery Sergeant Andrew Schuh and his wife Ariana of San Diego, and Robin Schuh Murphy and her husband Dennis of Bristow, Virginia and two Murphy grandsons. His mother, father, and sister Nicky DeAngelo predeceased him. He is also survived by his sister Annette Hamilton and her husband David of Perryville, Maryland, and his brothers Jim Schuh and wife Ann of New Port Richey, Florida and Patrick Schuh and wife Kristina of Wilmington, Delaware, and several nieces and nephews. Steve loved animals, convertibles, model building, stamp and coin collecting, and golf throughout his life, and was known on occasion to bake special Easter and French breads to share with his friends.
