First Steps

The following instructions correspond with the different situations you may find yourself in.  We are always available by phone if you have questions. Rest assured that we do not need any form of paper work or payment prior to the person’s passing to assist you.

If your loved one passes away unattended by a medical professional...

  1. Call 911. In these cases, the officer will contact the County Medical Examiner and they may choose to do an investigation if the cause of death is suspicious or traumatic in nature. In most cases, an investigation is unnecessary, and the officer will allow the family to contact us for removal at 760-727-8906.
  2. Upon receipt of your loved one, you will be contacted by one of our arrangers to further assist you. (If death occurs after hours or on a weekend, you will be contacted the following business day.)
  3. In the mean time, if you would like to get started on the forms for cremation, they are available here on our website: FORMS.
